Over the last two courses in the MBA program, each student is called upon to devise and implement a responsible business strategy—one that emphasizes financial sustainability alongside social impact and concludes with a compelling pitch to potential investors. Deliverables for this project include external analysis, business strategy, launch planning, scaling strategies, and financial modeling.

Expansion of California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) organic certification to include certification for labor standards and social responsibility

Expansion of Loaves, Fishes & Computers (LFC), a nonprofit dedicated to bridging the digital divide, to help food companies reduce food waste and comply with new California regulations, improving food security and sustainability

Extension of services from a nursery and permaculture farm in Imperial Valley to bring fresh produce to a food desert in an underserved area
